What are the benefits of small group travel?

The world is a beautiful place, it’s only human nature to get out there and discover it. It’s a big place to discover, with many different languages to learn, borders to cross and cultures to negotiate. Small group adventure travel makes these things much easier than travelling alone or as a couple. Instead of worrying about logistics, you can focus on having the trip of a lifetime.

I am a single traveller, will I be charged a single supplement?

Follow Your Heart does not require single travellers to pay a surcharge for travelling alone on the Sonic Adventure. Our challenges are primarily on a twin share basis, so if you are joining the group as a solo traveller, we will match you with someone of your own gender. The choice is yours however; if you prefer not to share, we offer single supplements that will guarantee a single room.

Do your charity challenges include international airfares?

In some cases we have a limited number of group booking places for the early bird bookings. For other bookings please contact Paula Saunders on ‘paula.saunders@travelcounsellors.com‘ or call 0044 7900 957240.

What information do I get?

On completion of your booking you will receive a confirmation email which includes your trip notes, a Challenge Pack and any other trip specific information. The Challenge pack is full of useful information, including a recommended gear list and advice for preparing physically for your adventure should it involve trekking, cycling or altitude.

What should I pack for my charity challenge?

Visa requirements vary based on the passport you are travelling on and the destination of your trip. Information about visas for the country you are visiting can be found in our pre-departure information supplied upon booking.  Our chosen travel agent, Travel Counsellors can help apply for an additional fee.

Which vaccinations do I need?

Your Challenge Pack provides information on vaccinations but we suggest that you also consult your doctor, local government inoculation centre or a travel medical specialist in order to get the most current advice regarding vaccination requirements.

What is included in my charity challenge?

You do need to have a reasonable level of fitness in order to take part, but you do not need to be ‘super fit’ or a professional athlete! We suggest you slowly build up your fitness levels on the build up to your challenge.

How much support do I receive leading up to the challenge?

We keep in contact with you through regular emails and we are always on the phone or email to answer any queries you have.

Do I need travel insurance?

We recommend our travel insurance, Campbell Irvin for further information.

Why is the registration fee non-refundable?

The registration fee is non-refundable as it forms part of the total challenge cost and is used to process your registration.  It helps us to plan ahead, ensure our commitment to our partners and to secure suppliers linked with your challenge.

What sort of flights are used?

We need to source flights that best match our challenge itineraries and quite often there are no direct flights to the challenge destination.  Please keep in mind that airlines do not offer good competitive rates for groups on direct flights, so, in order to get the best price, please be prepared for transit stops.  Don’t worry, embrace these as they are perfect opportunities to get to know your fellow challengers!

We recommend booking with our preferred travel agent, the Travel Counsellors who will provide the same details as the group you wish to travel with.  They will manage your booking including payments.

Can I book my own flights?

Yes.  Please contact us and we can supply you with a ‘ground only’ cost.  If you come on a separate flight, you will also be responsible for getting yourself to the pre-agreed meeting point at the challenge destination, in order to meet up with the rest of the group.

We recommend booking with Campbell Irvine.
